Visakhapat South Port


Visakhapatnam South Port is one of the main ports in India, which has three ports, namely, outer port, inner port and fishing port. The 200-hectare outer harbor has six berths and the 100-hectare inner harbor has 18 berths.
The outer port is equipped with deep draft berths (i.e. break-bulk berths). The wharf is 356 meters long and can accommodate vessels with drafts up to 18.10 meters to handle imported coking coal and steam coal. The berths can accommodate 200,000-ton ships, equipped with 3 loaders of 2500 tons/hour (70,000 tons/day), a conveyor system, and quick loading system for stacker-reclaimers.
Another mechanized wharf (EQ1), which handles steam coal vessels operated by the M/s Adani Vizag coal Terminal, has a maximum draft of 14.50 tons and is equipped with two mobile harbor cranes, which can unload 27,000 tons of cargo per day.

GENMA Solution

In March 2018, GENMA designed the following scheme based on the operation requirements of customers. It is the second generation MHC product of GENMA(G2). The overall shape of the whole machine is optimized, and the modular travel mechanism is adopted to improve the maneuvering characteristics. The whole machine can move in any radius and even slewing in place.
Machine parameters are as follows:
Operation type: container, bulk, bulky hoisting, etc.
Maximum handling efficiency: not less than 900T/H (bulk), not less than 25 per hour (container)
Applicable ship type: 7000 ~ 80,000 DWT (bulk), super panama container ship (16 rows)

Achieved Results

1、 MHC can operate in many ways by replacing slings for lifting loads, like choosing hook, container spreader and grab mode to meet different functional requirements;

2、 Free standardized axle group can implement infield lifting operation so that it overcomes the limitations of the existing port equipment with a single function and a fixed operating area. And the standard trailer tire eliminates the need for users to prepare special spare tires. It is economical and time-saving. The hydraulic buffer device of the standardized axle can avoid the overload of a single wheel group.
3、 During travelling, the pressure of a single tire on the ground can be reduced to 6.25t, and the size of the supporting leg plate and the number of axle groups can be changed to meet the actual loading requirements of the wharf, so that the wharf does not need any track to reduce cost;
4、 By optimizing the power control system to achieve the optimal configuration of hoisting, amplitude variation and slewing speed and it can make full use of the diesel engine to improve the loading and unloading efficiency;
